Illuminate Season I 2020

Exciting news today as we announce our Season I 2020 Illuminate artists!
Illuminate Women's Music is delighted to announce that in Season I 2020 saxophonist Naomi Sullivan and pianist Yshani Perinpanayagam will be Illuminate's performers in residence. They will be working with our composers in residence Angela Elizabeth Slater Composer and Blair Boyd as well as our 2020 Season I composers Lara Poe, Nina Clara Danon and Ray Gibson!
These new works will be programmed alongside historical works and existing repertoire including Hilary Tann's In The First, Spinning Place and Sarah Westwood cable veins for solo piano!
Lahti Symphony Orchestra – Sibelius Festival

I have been selected for Sinfonia Lahti's Nursery Garden initiative involving the Lahti Sibelius Festival. This means I will be commissioned to write a 10 minute long orchestral piece to be performed by the Lahti Symphony Orchestra in September. I will be working with Sebastian Fagerlund on this project.

Ung Nordisk Musik 2019 Piteå

First held in 1946, UNM is one of the oldest festivals for new music in the North. Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Finland act as alternating hosts. Separate juries in each country selects the young composers. Among the music of these emerging talents the program includes mentoring guest composers Mark Andre, Veli-Matti Puumala, Martin Q Larsson, Antti Auvinen and Matthew Whittall.

New Release with Kudos Records and CAMP out on August 10, 2018

This is the first in a series of releases generated via the program of sound, music and arts residencies at Fuse Art Space's remote mountain arts facility, CAMP. Opened in April 2018, CAMP hosts residential workshops in the high French Pyrenees with the world's most acclaimed composers, performers, artists and writers - sessions in 2018 have been lead by Chris Watson, Gavin Bryars, Anne Bean, Eli Keszler, Laraaji and others.

Composer in Residence at ICon Arts Academy 2018

The academy runs in parallel with the ICon Arts Sibiu Festival, with workshops led by Joshua Fineberg, and culminates in a performance on July 31st in Sibiu during the ICon Arts Festival, at Thalia State Philharmonic Hall. This performance will also be broadcasted through internet live streaming on Enjoytv.Ro.
This year's academy focuses on a work for Fernando Mihalache (accordion) and Duo Cello Jaya (Ella Bokor and Mircea Marian).
